Making A BrushLearn how to make your own brushes!
I dunno how anticipated a new tutorial was for this thread was, but here it is, finally.
Step 1. Start out by making a new sig with a transparency that's about 400x300.

Step 2. Use the ink tool to make any random blob. Make sure the blob is in the center so it doesn't make any straight lines when you/other people use it (Seriously, that's a BIG mistake to make).

Step 3. Smudge the sides out a little so there are no un-blurred edges. Make sure you're using one of the small circle brushes to do this. Also, I recommend that you brush the sides with a curly type of motion.

Step 4. This is where I can't really help you. This is where you need to let out your own creativity. Smudge from the black parts of the blob and form various things such as spikes, squiggly lines, etc. Note that you will have to smudge the same parts several times or else the whatever your doing will more than likely be to short. Some parts of the brush may seem very dark, but when put on a white background, you'll see that looks a lot different. Here's what I made for the tut, and what it looks like on a white background:

Step 5. Save the brush as a .gbr file in the brushes folder. Location of the brushes folder in the image below. After you save the brush into the folder, a window should come up saying something about a description and spacing. In the description box put the name of your brush and leave the spacing alone. Click save on that window and your done.

Chrome Text
Step 1. Start out by making some stroked text. Don't have Stroked Text? Click here (http://kward1979uk.deviantart.com/art/Stroked-text-runs-on-2-4-68546162) to download it, and put it in the scripts folder, which is located in the same place the brushes folder is (follow the path at the top of this post).

Step 2. Duplicate the text layer and go to Filters>Blur>Gaussian Blur and use the default settings. If your text is smaller than the text in the pictures, I recommend 2-4.

Step 3. Set the duplicated text's layer mode to darken only.

Step 4. Lastly, go to Filters>Map>Displace and use the default settings on the duplicated text. You're already done! You may optionally color it if you want, but since chrome is normally white, I don't think it would look as good. ;)

To open a pic onto the current image: Ctrl+Alt+O
To open a file: Ctrl+O
To undo a mistake: Ctrl+Z

It's your internet. Some internet providers show transparent as white, some as black, and some as transparent. If you want an internet that shows transparency, get Internet Explorer 7 or FireFox

If you copied what knux said to get the brushes you may need to refresh your brushes.
Click on the painbrush tool then in tool options where u select the brush.
Look for a small brush thing or open brush dialog box
Then click the refresh brushes button i had to do that

Please tell me you're not using only the background as a layer.

On the signature you're working on...

Go to the top and look for "dialogs" and look for "layers" :) after that's done, move it to where it's near your brushes dialogue on the controller. :)
