View Full Version : IDEA Grenade Suggestion: Poison Gas n' Acid Grenades

I have a new idea for grenade types. They are the poison gas and acid grenades. Similar to the Specialist's failrifle, these are meant to add more strategy to the game, without integrating them into a gun which sucked. *cough* Specialist *cough*

Poison Gas grenades have the same throwing power as the frag, except the explosion from the blast will poison any target caught within the blast, and will slowly deplete the enemy's health, the same way the Specialist's rifle did. The blast range is twice the size of the frag, and the slope effect does not count. If the enemy is high above or down below, they WILL get poisoned if caught in the blast. However, the effect does not go through walls. If a support heals you with it's Nano-Pak, the effect is immediately diminished. The way it will look, is when the nade explodes, it will slowly fill the blast radius with poison gas, which will be a purple color, and will make the area of the blast radius look disoriented in a purple mist for three seconds, then will slowly fade.

Acid Grenades also have the same throwing power as the frag, and the explosion will burn away the armor of anyone unfortunate enough to be caught in the blast. With these, you can make a Heavy as weak as a Recon. Again, the effect is like the Specialist. The blast range is also twice the range of a frag, and slopes do not count. If within the radius, the effect kicks in. However, this effect also can't go through walls. Supports CANNOT restore armor. This nade is great for eliminating campers, especially in CTF. When the nade explodes, it will release an acidic green mist, and the area of the blast radius turns a sickly greenish tint for three seconds, then will slowly fade.

(Just a note, I think poison gas grenades would be perfect as the fourth weapon for Recons.)

Good idea but this would probably cause more lag, im leaning towards a no.

If it's a good idea, vote for yes. If it would cause lag, big deal, vote for yes if it's good.

I said yes, but definately not for recons, they would own too much. Recon is meant to be taken out by heavy. But maybe for a class like the guard, as it would force people to evacuate...maybe even a kinda timer for a psycological force out ...

Then at least the Acid grenades should be given to Recons, because some classes have too much armor to be taken out by the Recon alone.

I think they would be cool to have, however I don't know how much I would use them.
I believe however that the Acid Grenade would be a nice edition to the recon.
overall its a 7/10.

that reminds me SOO much of Gears of War 2...

but that would be the PERFECT 4th weapon for recons

I suppose, based on the replies, this is a bad idea. But to the Pawn Assistant who posts before he takes in the details, these would probably only be used for Recons.

I'm kind of against the Poison one, especially when I posted it, but the Acid one is great.
