I was playing a game of CTF one day, and I was getting epically owned. After fretting for a while, a sad fact popped up in my head. In this new, fresh PT account, I have never once captured a zone or flag........

Eh, help? O_O

Do you actually want help or do you want us to tell you how bad you are at ctf?

It's mostly about timing. I'm honestly shocked you've never captured a flag/zone. It's pretty easy once you start playing regularly.

The latter of the two. Just some general tips and advice would help me quite a bit. The camping and defense parts of CTF are both pretty darn self explanatory, but the flagging and rushing is what messes me up.

Most of my time is spent inside FFAs and TDMs. Those types of modes are simple, and very easy to pick up. Assaults add a few variables, the zones and flags. It seems the minute I walk into a CTF or assault I get engulfed in a pool of lag and bullets. D:

I:
-Use recon
-recharge run bar right before I pick up the flag
-make sure no noobs from the other team are in the way

1. Recon
2. Killguards
3. Grab flag
4. Kill guards
5. Run like hell
6. don't die (very important)

If you suck at flagging... good luck

Scout out the noobiest team and wait till they're gone, steal the flag, go to higher ground, and run for your life back to base

Recon or lancer is my suggestion, Depends on what kind of team your stealing it from.
1) Before you pick up the flag make sure some one isn't going to respawn just as your running off. << You can do this by estimating the spawn time from when you kill that person.
2) Before you pick up flag regenerate your stamina (At times you may not have time to do this) These two steps are hard to accomplish at the same time.
3) If you get intercepted on the way back try to get in side a barrier which your attacker can not shoot you, wait for them at the opening so you can flag them A.S.A.P.
4) (Many people make this mistake) If your flag is not there DO NOT go after the guy if you can not reach him with the flag you are caring. Let your team do it.
I hope this helps you.

Well, the conventional way for me is to:

1. Get to the enemy base through the extreme elevations. (For safety.)

2. Kill all the guys in the base with some knifing action.

3. Get back to my base through the same way.

However, the FUN way of doing it is:

1. Be a Heavy and spray your way to the other base.

2. Grenade the heck out of the enemy base.

3. Spawn camp 30 kills.

4. Once you have 10% health left, kill the last wave of spawning enemies.

5. Head back to base and make the Heavy capture.

6. Heal then repeat process.

Hope this helps!

What I do is memorize most of the teams incase
I need to stop em from getting the flag. DO NOT RUN IN ENEMY TERRITORY. It makes you more.....Seeable.. Get practice with the knife since it's just like a flag.

...Using Recon:
1.Patience...wait for your enemy to leave the base, clear out of your screen...If they don't, have some allies bring in a "special delivery"...
2.Camp in High Elevations...Once more, don't attack unless necessary, especially if your inside the enemy base...*if next to the flag, you've got a 8/10 chance of being ignored...until you grab the flag...*
3....This really depends on how many people are on your team...
3A.If you've a full team, have a medic nearby, ready to heal. Order a distraction, hopefully your friends have 'nades or an elevation advantage...when your allies have successfully "cleaned house", you've got 7 seconds to grab the package and run like ****...stick with the medic, and you'll be fine *even better with a hev/assault escort*
3B. If few people are on the team, 3A strategy still works...though u may not have an escort with your medic...
3C. ...Alone?...No problem. Lure another team to your desired flag, or just wait for them to come over/wait for enemy to leave base. Camp near the flag, or your desired location. 3CA. If the enemy is done with a fight, kill the survivors and start running. If too much time elapsed between the fight and your enemy's death, wait for them to spawn, do the dirty work, and finish them. Grab the flag, and run as if armageddon was behind you...3CB. If the enemy is done with a fight, and is uninjured, just wait a few seconds, 9/10 times, most of the pack will leave to launch a counter attack. When they're a good distance *predict when you'll be able to get away from them safely*, kill any left to guard *hevs shouldn't be a problem, weren't for me*, and take that flag, run like your *** was on fire.

...After that, it's simply watching for stray bullets, campers who like to kill you when victory is so close, and hoping your flag is still there...

Be a recon / lancer!
Camp in there base.
Wait for stamina to regain.
( I usually go in the corner when recon so i dont get seen.)
Then when they go away from base, take the flag and go the quickest possible route to your base, if they dont go away from their base kill them. Then straight after you have killed them take the flag and go the quickest possible route to your base.

Hopefully this should
be a really good guide ;)

ok
1 be recon get in the base wait till they all off screen the run and hope your team kills the people around your base
2 if in ctf central in warfare and you cant get in with recon cause the heavy throw your 2 nades snipe them out if you can but dont if you have low health then run in right befor you take flag throw you flash at the 3 boxes this will flash them all and run(it will flash you so make sure you know how to get out of the base.
one more its a little harder but works. when going for blue you notice theres your health bar hide under that till they go out of base(recon only) if you see an other team going for it hid there wait till they pick up flag then kill them and run with it your self
and again hope your team kills the rest
