I voted in this poll in a post and this is what it came up with

How is this physically possible

And is this a bug or just someones poor math skills?

nice find
probably a glitch or when you voted it didnt change the percentage

It's a Multiple choice poll.

It's a Multiple choice poll.

you are really not that smart... first off its 52.17 percent apeice, that over 100%.... Then there is only 23 voters according to the bar below the voting section but it shows 24.... pay attention

SeasonalTNT

There are 23 people.

12/23 ~ 52.17%

One person votes for both. 22 people voted either yes or no. You pay attention.

I wish I could close topics in this forum too...

/end

Do not say someone's not that smart whenever you don't even know what the hell is going in your own pic.

Someone voted for both, it's multiple choice.

It's a POLL.
And it is counted with PERCENTAGES.
And sometimes they end up with DECIMALS.

sanwichmaker
03-03-2009, 07:01 PM
omg, but it is over 100 percent... do you understand that... and then on the right side of the poll it says there is 24 voters not 23 with 52.17 percent appeice....

do your math, it is impossible

SeasonalTNT
03-03-2009, 07:02 PM
it friggen says it has 23 votes, but 24 votes.

Do you read?

We've said it already, SOMEONE VOTED FOR BOTH.
IT IS MULTIPLE CHOICE.

That means you can choose BOTH, which means you'll get OVER 100%, because you voted TWICE.

Please, do NOT ask for help if your going to not even read the posts.

Which of the words don't you understand, Multiple, or Voters?

There are 23 voters, meaning 23 people made choices on this poll.
Multiple, meaning more than one, means that you can pick more than one choice on the poll.

I said, /end.

i still dont get this...
if there was 24 votes why does it make
a difference if someone voted for both?
the percentage should say how much
of the percent was for what so it should
be 50% for both

The thing is that you cannot vote twice for "both" as you say it... i went back and personaly checked it....

And you are right it should be 50%

SeasonalTNT

52.17% of the people, or 12 people out of 23, voted for yes.
52.17% of the people, or 12 people out of 23, voted for no.

23 voters.
24 votes.

It makes it a decimal.

forget about the voters part
it should be divided by the votes.
12 votes for yes 12 for no. 50%

So, yeah, it totally makes sense, one person = two persons. Let's get rid of all numbers altogether.

no, but it should not have anything to
do with the posters just how much of
the votes were for what.

You guys both need to take a basic 4th grade math class.

There's not an even amount of voters, why would there be an even amount of votes?

Please, do the simple math, and respond with something other than "ommggg yu dunt get itttt".

Me and Chin are only trying to help you understand this basic concept.

omg.... obviously you cant do that 4th grade math.... If you ignore everything else and look at the percentages (52.17+52.17=104.34) then you get OVER 100% SOMETHING THAT IS PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE when there are people voting......

It's not 4th grade math. But whatever education is required, this guy doesn't have it.

If you vote twice, you have added to OVER 100%, because you voted more than once, to get an even 100% you only vote once.

It's not that hard, I'll Google up some basic percentages lessons so you can follow along.

it all depends how you look at it
if you look at it by the voters then you have 52.17% for each
but if you look at it by the number of votes then it should be 50% each

Thank you for not being all E-Snappy in your post, that is a small relief from sanwich.

I agree, if you look at an even 12/12 votes, it's 50% each, but there is not an even # of voters, so it becomes a decimal percentage.

Since it's not even because someone voted for both, it means that there's technically more than 100% available.

Both of us are correct in our point of views, but sanwhich is claiming that I am wrong in MY point of view, in which I happen to be right.
