After being threatened with a kicking by a mod, I felt I needed to post this.
I feel that it'd be right to add "No religious discussion" to the rules of Pawn.
One person, who I won't name, was spamming the chat with "God doesn't exsist because I say so" and other comments for 10 minutes straight [and is probably still typing it now.] Now, I really have no problem with free speech, and the right to your own beliefs...but that was both rude, ignorant, and spam.
I'm a Baptist Christian here, but I fully respect the fact that not everyone I meet wants to be a Christian. It's sad, but true, so I only talk about the matter when they bring it up. But, after 10 minutes of not responding to a word I said, I asked a mod to kick him for being offensive, and for spam. The message I got back was "Next person who asks for him to be kicked, gets kicked for spam."
Now, if this is how Christians [or anyone of any religion] is going to be treated for standing up for their beliefs, then I'm out of Pawn.

Im a Non-demnomanational Christian
Please what Twilly says and all others from all Different beliefs say is in fact Offensive material
Peopel dont come to pawn to chat about religon.

After being threatened with a kicking by a mod, I felt I needed to post this.I never kicked you.
It wasn't spam, and if you don't want to listen you don't have to.
The message I got back was "Next person who asks for him to be kicked, gets kicked for spam." That wasn't a mod, that was someone on IRC talking through a mods account. He didn't actually kick anyone anyways.
Now, if this is how Christians [or anyone of any religion] is going to be treated for standing up for their beliefs, then I'm out of Pawn. Do you realize how much flaming was going on towards the person who originally got you "offended"? I had to kick like 20 people for shouting F YOU towards him.

Brohana we have a good point though it is Offensive material. He may have been cussed at but why would he have to do that?

So because people were shouting "F YOU" at him, that means it's not ok for someone to take offence, and to try and show him that he was wrong? I'm pretty sure that I wasn't shouting "F YOU," Brohana.
Also...WTF is someone doing on a mod's account? And I never mentioned you Bro...it was whoever this "mod" is

I say seeing as it is not allowed that is surely should be added to the rules.

That being offensive is opinionated and is like banning arguments over which company is better then the other.
So because people were shouting "F YOU" at him, that means it's not ok for someone to take offence, and to try and show him that he was wrong? I'm pretty sure that I wasn't shouting "F YOU," Brohana. To him, he wasn't wrong, to you he was wrong. You can try to persuade him to your side, but just because your offended by someone disagreeing with your beliefs and displaying it publically doesn't mean he doesn't have the right to say it. And I wasn't saying you were flaming him, but many other people were.
Also...WTF is someone doing on a mod's account? And I never mentioned you Bro...it was whoever this "mod" is

PAwn isnt a religion chat, it hasnt been, I've been here for awhile. Its never gotten ths bad. It should be a rule that it is not discussed in a offensive way , becasue it is offensive when someone is Shouting things opposing others, He was offended to becasue his atheism was being offended.

So, for one...a non-mod posing as a mod...now how is that different from me posing as one? It is because of this "mod" that I'm writing on the forum, instead of using /msg, or talking to Pawn in general...expressing my opinion, just like Twilly was doing. Why is this allowed, if it's infringing on my free speech?
And, I'm not telling you that people have to agree with me. I already admitted that I know not everyone will. Offence is ALWAYS opinion-based, yet in the rules it says "no offensive material." What I'm asking is a simple matter, that stops people from being insulted, and stops pointless arguments clogging the chat.

Pawn isnt a religious chat, its just a chat. You can talk about whatever you want.
You're pretty much saying its offensive to disagree with someone.

I will explain to you what the whole "posing as a mod thing" is.
A certain number of people where chosen to be able to kick people. these users are not mods and can not infract. They can watch the chat without actually being there using a program. They can also talk through that program. The moderator (admin now) that has created the usage of this is the one that is actually "talking", but the person who can kick controls what it says. thats why it says "(automated message).
The offensive material rule is alittle iffy. People can be offended by the smallest things or big things. It is mostly just vulgar statements that people make to other users. Religious debates aren't considered offensive because of the matter of the subject. If a christian is trying to convert me then i would naturally take offense, because I do not believe in that. When I tell them that "There is no god", they would immediatly take offense also. Eventually more and more people join in and it all turns into one big flame-fest. This is why religious debates are an iffy subject.

Did you see the people who offended me captain dim watt?
Ruling out that you cannot say god isn't real on pawn would be complet bull. Well then you should also rule out that budda isn't real ether. Or maybe pie isn't good rule too.
If you get offended by something like that...Get off the internet....Pawn is surrounded by very immature players; if you are really offended by that then quit Pawn.

Twilly, if you want to argue this with me, I'd be happy to add you to MSN. But, your arguments are nonsense, and offencive. You say "Everything is made of energy. Energy isn't alive. Therefore, God doesn't exist." While in itself, it makes no sense, I supplied a counter-argument, which you ignored. Now you say "This isn't America," and say that my point that I'm not American doesn't mean anything.
In my opinion - yes, opinion, as offence is ALWAYS opinion based - you're just trying to hurt as many Christians as possible. Why? Because you cannot form a logical argument, nor answer any retorts.
Like I said...I'll happily talk over MSN

Look no one was trying to convert anyone. It is just the fact that no one of any religion does not want to hear this. People shouldnt have to deal with this here.
I have no offence toward any religion or anything, I'm just saying that these debates are getting alittle harsh and hard to deal with.

Religion, I agree, is definitely too touchy of a topic to be allowed if it is this disrespectful.
I would support a rule against this AS LONG as this goes both ways. I'm an atheistic Christian. Someone asked me if I believed in the devil because I liked metal (which pissed me off...) and I said that I wasn't Christian, and therefore didn't believe in God or the devil. I don't think that was out of line. Anyway, the user then proceeded to flame me and tell me I was going to hell and that I had better believe in God and I was a terrible person for believing the world can exist without a god controlling it.
If people will be muted or warned or whatever for flaming Christians, I think it's only fair to include the opposite situation.

Yes! This is exactly what I mean...not just stopping people from insulting it, but also stopping Christians praising it. Why do I want this? So people can sit in the chat without having their morales challenged. I'm not trying to flame Twilly, as he'd love to believe, or convert all of Pawn...I just want a peaceful game.

You guys amuse me. You want "no religious discussion" added to the list to rules?
1) This is a free forum, it isn't controlled by the chinese government, people can say whatever they want if they follow the rules. There is no rule that prohibits religion nor should there be.
2) Anyone who is offended when someone disagrees with their religion on a 2D game should get the heck off the internet and get some fresh air.
3) E-drama is phail. Therefore this thread is phail.

Stop lieing. No mod ever threatened you. I did. I'll explain that later.
First off, "rude, ignorant" comments count as freedom of speech. Please don't contradict yourself.
Second of all, you claimed he was spamming. Now, basically what he did to be called a spammer was say different messages with the same message, God doesn't exist.
However, the chat has been doing the same thing. Saying different messages, with the same message. I got tired of hearing "kick Twilly" around 50 times (literally) and thought it was pointless to have any more "kick Twilly" comments.
So here's the conclusion: You say you have no problem with freedom of speech, but have a problem when Twilly actually uses his right. You call Twilly a spammer, but fail to mention several other players who did the same thing while you were there. Why the double standards?
Here's a transcript of the logs:

I think that there's a line that can be crossed. I don't care if someone tries to tell me that Christianity is right and I should believe in God. It is irritating, but whatever. But I'm going to take an example from another forum of a time where I think punishments should be handed out. This happened on a forum I admin.
Person A is Christian and has an atheistic brother dying from AIDs, I believe it was. Person B is Christian, Person C is atheist. A was devastated, because he was very close to his brother. He said that he was Christian primarily because he needed something to believe in, some form of hope. A said that the only way he was making it in life was because he felt better knowing that there was a chance God would heal the brother. B said that A should give it up because his brother was an atheist, and God wouldn't save him, and he was gonna die a painful and lonely death in the depths of hell. This was elaborated over multiple 300 word posts -- it was vulgar and completely ruthless. Person C said that God couldn't possibly exist, and if he let others die, he'd let the brother die as well, and he should just give it up beacuse his brother was gonna die and having hope was stupid/delusional. Ruthless as well.
I only summarized what B and C said, but I'm sure you can imagine how devastating that kind of thing is to hear when your brother is dying. I tempbanned/suspended both B and C. I don't feel I was out of line for doing that, and I don't regret it. Because I think that THAT crossed the line.
I think religion is a topic that can be discussed casually, but that kind of talk... I mean yeah this is the internet, not everyone is 100% nice. A probably shouldn't have been spilling his feelings to the world and expect that he wouldn't get hurt by it. But there is a line.
And basically, if I ever see that happen here, I'm leaving pawn...
Just my two cents. I guess my view on this is, casual discussion is allowed, but no attempted converting quests and no shattering people like in the above example.
I'm really sick and tired or people trying to get me to convert over the internet. Doesn't happen on pawn much, but it's still ******* annoying.
