Just wanted to see everyone's opinion on this. So, these skaters were not allowed to skate in the inner harbor, not sure weather the officer gave them a warning, the video was unclear. The skater, a 14 year old boy, didn't hear him, because he was listening to his i-pod. So, the cop decided to get verbal with him. Do you think the cop is over reacting?

Its a 50/50 thing.

Its safe the assume the skate yuppies knew what they were doing was wrong, and did it anyway. Places like that have signs posted everywhere. Plus, wearing an ipod is no excuse. Its reckless and dangerous.

However, the rentacop did overreact. He took the power too his head and took his failures with 6 minute abs out on the kids.

Suspend the cop without pay and make him join anger management/weight watchers. Let the kids off with a department apology and a warning.

Old,

but still yanks my chain.

Being a skater,

this sort of thing angers me.

And Greb,

wearing an iPod while skating isn't really dangerous,

for the most part it helps some people because the background music is encouraging.

Unless your skating in the street with it on like a complete jackass,

your fine.

If your skating in a public area where pedestrians and vehicles may be present, no one cares whats encouraging. You need to be aware of your surroundings at all times and that is just not possible with your ears plugged.

What happened to the rentapiggy anyway?

Well they could have been doing this to annoy the cop. Maybe he'd seen them before. But anyways the cop is like Paul BLart of very little importance he just is hungry for respect. He talked about his father but the boy didn't have one, so he didn't want to make himself look stupid. But after all the skaters do win. The high-pant-wearing cop use physical force and well Verbal force (not sure if that's an offense.

So the cop can be compared to a PA or mod?

Its not like you can't hear your surroundings.

Unless your being a dipshit and have your iPod turned all the way up.

And he got suspended after the video was shown on the news somewhere.
