I've been thinking for a while about this and i finally decided to post it.

How about having your rank avatar on the score card. (when you press shift) in a game.

Actually, it's an interesting idea. People sometimes like to join a game, and immediately press shift to see who's winning. When they see, they would like to see that person's rank, without jumping into the line of fire to do so.
