Turn on pop up blocker. Duh.

And if it passes it just deal with it. It's not really a end of the world deal.

No foo',there are these anti-viruses called "Rogue",Antivirus 2009 is an example,so is Norton. They don't search for viruses, they just show you the viruses he will put into your system.

To remove this piece of crap, use Revo Uninstaller or Spyhunter.

Antivirus 2009 is a serious infection. I'm asking that only members of the MRT post on this thread, or those who for sure know what they're doing.

Antivirus 2009 is not a mere pop up. If you have no idea what you're doing, please gtfo this thread.

It's what known as a 'Rogue Antivirus.'

Now, Frozen, Antivirus 2009 is a serious infection, and is among the most infamous of the Rogue Antiviruses at the moment. If left unhindered, it will in effect 'destroy' your computer. You're going to need to follow these instructions carefully.

First, I need you to download and install BOTH of the following:

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html)
SuperAntiSpyware (http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html)

After you've downloaded and successfully installed both, it's time to reboot in SAFE MODE and run at least 2 scans using each. If you need help getting into safe mode, click here (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html). Have them remove whatever it is that they discover.

It is critical that you run the scans in safe mode, as all scans done from there are far more effective than normal scans. Also note that any links I provide to you, whether they be for instruction or download, are perfectly safe and are malware-free.

Once you've completed the above, post back saying so as they're will be more instructions.

Step 1: Tell your brother to never install random crap without permission from Pawngame tech team. We know our shizz.
Step 2: Reformat.
Step 3(Optional): Install linux and forget step 1.

Reformatting is hardly the most practical option at the moment. Antivirus 2009 is removable - he just needs to follow my instructions.

Asking someone to completely wipe their computer isn't something you throw around as a cure-all for everything. There are more viable solutions. If you're going to claim to be some sort of Tech God, try offering advice that doesn't absolutely blow for the sake of raising your post count.

The same exact thing happened to me on my other computer. It said i had a virus and that i had to download Virus Protection 2009. Turns out it didnt work. So of course i had to go get my computer fixed at a shop. The man there said that it was a new virus. It says everytime you click on a pop-up (whether an accident or not) it sends a small piece of the virus into your computer. When it all comes together it forms one deadly virus for your computer. The same thing happened to me (and i mean exact same thing). I mean, i would get pop ups galore (like every 10 seconds)

My opinion: have it professionally fixed

My opinion: If you don't know what the hell you're talking about, gtfo the damn thread.

The infection IS REMOVABLE. Jesus Christ. I want to know how the hell some of you managed to make it on the tech team. Absolutely ridiculous.

You haven't had it for two years, they just have different names. And I'm assuming you're using Malware Bytes for the scan?

Also, the fact that you're posting this means you're not doing the scan in safe mode.

=|

Trust me, doing the scans in safe mode is far more effective than regularly.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html

Follow the above tutorial to get into safe mode. From there, just run the scans again. Once you're done, just reboot again to start up regularly and then post here saying you've done so. From there, we can move to the second part which is to make sure there is nothing else lurking on your computer.

I'm assuming you're running XP?

As soon as your computer begins to start up again, tap F8 until you see the following screen:

http://www.playtool.com/pages/safemode/win2ksafemode3.jpg

Select 'Safe Mode.' Then you're in and just run the scans. NOTE: In safe mode, the internet will be disabled.

Arab. I know what I'm talking about. I just dealt with this antivirus sht for over 2 months. Now for what to do.

Go to run. Doesn't matter where...

Type in User Passwords.

Create another User account and set the priveledges to Administrator.

Download either Avast! or any other type of anti virus system you can think of onto the account you created.

Have it do a Booting scan to the computer...

Deletes all the viruses.

Magic!

Now if your wondering why I told you to do this is because Antivirus takes out the option of user accounts in control panel and as well it keeps resetting your internet security system as well as not being able to download anything.

Now does it look like I don't know what im talking about?

P.S. I would do this before it gets too bad. There is one pop-up then later on over 55.

Run a scan of Hijackthis and post the log here.

300.. =|!

The sheer number indicates that there is a good possibility that the scans might have missed some things.

As CP said, download Trend Micro Hijack This: http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis/download

Run a scan and post the logs of the scan here. I'll take a look at the logs, as well as others on the MRT that have more experience with HJT logs.

After you've done that, run a scan using this: http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Click on the 'FREE Kaspersky Online Scanner' image to initiate the scan. No download required.

Spyhunter can't miss anything, believe me foo'.

I once had Antivirus 2008,don't remember how I got it but I sure remember I used Spyhunter to delete all the Zlob and Antivirus 2008 registration codes that piece of ship made.
